cooking shows.

these past few weeks of winter break, i have spent a lot of time watching cooking shows. top chef, best thing i ever ate, worst cooks, iron chef, next great baker, cake boss, etc have all made me realize one thing:

I WISH I COULD COOK LIKE THEM!

oh, and that the food always looks even more delicious in HD. yum.

if only harvard dining halls would hire professional chefs for a day!

if there is too much snow outside, bake bread and cookies 🙂

i love hanging out with old friends.  tonight, i went out to dinner and ice cream with four friends that i have known for over ten years.  i can’t believe i have been friends with them basically since kindergarten!  even though i left their school after sixth grade, they all stayed friends and i’m so glad i kept in contact with them. we didn’t hang out that much in high school, but every break we would try to get back together for a reunion dinner.  i’m really not the type of person that likes to give up friends easily so i always try to make an effort to hang out with them.

our dinner turned into us sitting at the restaurant for 2.5+ hours chatting then going to get ice cream (even though it was like 20 degrees), where we ended up chatting for another 2 hours.  i wish i had gotten a picture of all of us together but i only took a few. it feels really nice to talk to them because no matter what we talk about, the conversation always goes back to what happened back when we were in elementary school.  we shared all of our new college stories but also memories from back when we were younger.  even though we are all at different schools and we have definitely changed since when we first became friends, it’s so easy to talk to them when we get together.  i love talking about when we were younger and knowing that the four of them will always be my friends no matter what.
